Dr Abhishek Agarwal · 10 Nov 2024

Welcome to Dr Abhishek's Radiology Updates — a blog featuring exciting and interesting cases and evolving updates in the field of Radiology.

Case Findings

On ultrasound, there is minimal free fluid in the right iliac fossa (RIF) with echogenic shadowing at the liver surface and in the RIF, suggestive of free air foci.

The erect X-ray of the abdomen shows pneumoperitoneum.

Radiological Diagnosis

Acute Appendicitis with Rupture — confirmed post-operatively.

This case highlights how ultrasound and conventional radiography complement each other to reach an accurate, confident diagnosis.
